Are you passionate about working for an organization that serves to empower and uplift students through the education system by removing barriers and helping students realize their fullest potential? Our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. We achieve our mission by hiring bright, creative, and innovative team members who demonstrate a passion for what they do.

If this is you, are you All In For Kids?

For 40 years, Communities In Schools has been helping students achieve in school, graduate, and go on to bright futures. The CIS Male Student Achievement Program (MSAP) is a transformative leadership and peer support program for young men who are at high risk of dropping out of high school. MSAP identifies male-identifying students who have poor attendance, are at risk or are already involved with the juvenile justice system and are on the path to dropping out and cultivates a “positive brotherhood” to empower students with the support and skills to reduce or stop risky behaviors and make positive, informed choices about their relationships, physical health, and future.

MSAP offers curriculum-based, experiential group activities grounded in the leading adolescent development research. The pillars of the MSAP are critical mentoring, leadership development, developing a positive view of male masculinity, social emotional learning, academic coaching, and post-secondary access. The program works by developing a close relationship with a skilled caring adult, creating a community of accountability among the young men, expanding horizons through enrichment experiences and exposure to college and career opportunities in Central Texas, and creating leadership opportunities and a chance for students to give back to the community.

CIS of Central Texas is currently seeking a full-time Male Leadership Coach in Lockhart High School - Lockhart ISD, Lockhart, TX., to support young men who are struggling with unmet basic needs and lack of positive male role models. The Male Leadership Coach provides on going case management services that include individualized supports, crisis intervention, psycho-educational groups, basic needs assistance, academic support, home visits, parent engagement activities, and assistance identifying and accessing community resources. In addition to these services, the MSAP Coach will support participants to examine both individual interpersonal identity development, explore their own identities and strengths and learn and practice leadership skills throughout the year, culminating in a service project they have organized. The MSAP Coach will also provide support for goal-setting and future planning through career exploration activities, enrichment opportunities, college visits, and development of post-graduation plan. The Male Leadership Coaches must demonstrate growth mindset; share lessons learned and new innovations with teammates; hold self and team members accountable for project success and operate with a family- and child-first mindset.
