The Program Manager Cohort is an innovative program that supports and guides newly hired Program Managers over several months, to be ready to be brought on as a Program Manager on a select campus. This Cohort program works by layering experiences and creating community through enriching experiences and exposure to various departments in Communities In Schools of Central Texas (CISCT).

We are looking to hire individuals to train and be ready to support campuses in San Marcos, TX. As a cohort member, you will:

  • Experience in-depth training before being placed on a campus
  • Learn how we surround our students with a community of support
  • Shadow an experienced Program Manager or Program Support Specialist on a campus
  • Experience working with different departments for a layered learning approach
  • Support and assist with school field trips, provide data entry and support other departments as assigned
  • Be matched to a campus where you will lead year-long campus programming

What we offer:

CIS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The starting salary range for this position is $3,750/mo. Salaries are determined by qualifications and relevant experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and midpoint depending on experience and in alignment with internal equity.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience working with appropriate school-age youth and vulnerable populations
  • Experience with crisis intervention, assessments and referrals
  • Experience providing individual supportive guidance and case management services
  • Experience with group facilitation
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive and productive relationships to effectively collaborate with CIS staff, school personnel and community partners
  • Demonstrated cultural competence when engaging diverse audiences including students and families, team members, school personnel, volunteers, and community partners
  • English/Spanish speaking skills, preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work both autonomously and collaboratively
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on strength-based leadership
  • Experience working with parents/guardians and families
  • Experience collaborating with community agencies
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, human services, or related field; MSW degree preferred
  • Current CPR Certification, preferred
  • Access to reliable transportation

What you’ll do:

Program Administration

  • Program Design and Support: You will conduct needs assessments and use these to inform program design and to help identify appropriate resources
  • Campus Management: You will maintain positive relationships with campus personnel, market the program appropriately and establish the student referral processes
  • Data Management and Program Evaluation: You will implement effective data management systems which will be used for evaluating program effectiveness and implementing efficient administrative systems on campus

Campus Team Management

  • Hiring, Onboarding & Training: You will coordinate the hiring of team members, provide orientation and training and establish goals and expectations for the team and individual team members
  • Professional Development: You work with team members to develop a professional development plan
  • Team Supervision & Evaluation: You will provide ongoing supervision and support to individual team members and conduct new staff reviews and annual evaluations
  • Leading Team Culture: You will communicate relevant information including agency and school policies/procedures/practices to the team and promote and maintain agency culture/standards/systems

Student Services

  • Counseling & Facilitation: You will provide individual counseling to students, facilitate groups and practice crisis management as needed
  • Parental Engagement: You will conduct outreach to parents and develop parental involvement as needed
  • Case Management: You will perform case management and participate in the CIS team approach to service delivery

Campus and Community Relationships

  • Represent CIS: You will represent CIS at school and community meetings and events and make presentations where appropriate
  • Event Management: You will organize and coordinate school and community events and advocate for the program. You will host “open houses” or other events for personnel/teachers/parents, and communicate information and activities using appropriate avenues

Reporting Structure: This position is supervised by the CHRO until a campus match is made. Once a cohort member is assigned to a specific campus, supervision will shift to the Program Director of Campus-Based Services.

Worksite: This position is based out of CISCT's St. Elmo administrative office in Austin, Texas. Frequent travel between events, the administrative office, and or assigned campus.
