Who we want:

Communities In Schools of Central Texas is seeking a Program Director for Campus-Based Services to support CIS Program Managers in multiple schools in Austin, Texas (AISD). The Program Director is responsible for ensuring the successful organization, implementation, and supervision of activities, services, staff, and programs for schools in Austin ISD with CIS programs.

What we offer:

CIS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The starting salary range for this position is $5,000/mo. Salaries are determined by qualifications and relevant experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and midpoint depending on experience and in alignment with internal equity.

What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of program management including the demonstrated ability to direct and support programs to accomplish organizational strategic initiatives
  • Minimum of two (2) years of team management including a strong background in staff supervision and team building
  • Minimum of two (2) years in increasingly responsible leadership roles
  • Demonstrated commitment to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining positive and productive relationships to effectively collaborate with CIS staff, school personnel and community partners
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and mature decision-making skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including conflict management
  • Experience managing multiple projects and relationships while meeting critical deadlines
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience using virtual communication apps including MS Teams and Zoom
  • A minimum of one (1) year managing multiple sites, programs or contracts, preferred
  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field or a Bachelor’s Degree plus an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, preferred
  • Access to reliable transportation


What you’ll do:

  • Coordinate hiring process for vacant Program Manager positions
  • Provide initial orientation and ongoing supervision, support, and training to Program Managers within a designated level or program area
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews for Program Managers and other supervisees
  • Develop programming opportunities with Program Managers specific to the developmental needs of clients
  • Develop programs and activities with Program Managers designed to engage families in improving student achievement
  • Ensure Program Managers and other supervisees maintain compliance with contractual requirements and agency policies and procedures
  • Support Program Managers in maintaining a positive relationship with administration, teachers and other personnel on assigned campus
  • Prepare and submit reports as required
  • Participate in the CIS team approach to service delivery and problem-solving
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Promote and maintain agency culture, standards, and systems
  • Perform other activities and duties as required by the Senior Program Director, Program Officer or Chief Operations & Equity Officer

Reporting Structure: This position is supervised by a Senior Program Director of Camus-Based Services unless otherwise designated by the Regional Director or Program Officer. This position supervises Program Managers within a designated geographic or program area. May supervise other employees such as Program Coordinators, Caseworkers, AmeriCorps members, interns, and/or volunteers as necessary.

Work Location: This position is a full-time position and will be required to work at the CIS St. Elmo administrative office in Austin, TX.
