Communities In Schools is hiring a Program Support Specialist Coordinator who is responsible for overseeing a team of Program Support Specialists. This role ensures the effective delivery of CIS case management services across designated campuses by providing support, guidance, and mentorship to the Program Support Specialist team. The Coordinator will also directly contribute to maintaining continuity of services, crisis intervention, and fostering positive relationships with students, families, and community partners.
The Program Support Specialist Coordinator is a fully integrated member of the CIS service delivery team and is responsible for delivering and managing CIS case management services to students on designated campuses. The Program Support Specialist is responsible for the continuity of CIS program services during vacancies on the designated campus(es) and providing program leadership. In cases where a vacancy does not exist, the Program Support Specialist will support program staff with designated essential functions as needed.
The Program Support Specialist Coordinator must be adaptable and have the ability to readily shift focus areas and priorities when directed. Frequent travel between assigned campuses is a requirement, and due to the nature of this work, this is a full-time on-campus position.

What we offer:
CIS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The starting salary range for this position is $4,166.67/mo. Salaries are determined by qualifications and relevant experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and midpoint depending on experience and in alignment with internal equity.

What you’ll bring:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, human services, or related field, or, (4) four years of experience working with school-age youth and vulnerable populations
- Minimum of two years of experience in case management or related field, with at least one year in a supervisory role, preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive and productive relationships to effectively collaborate with CIS staff, school personnel and community partners
- Highly self-motivated and able to work both autonomously and collaboratively
- Demonstrated ability to identify and manage priorities in a dynamic environment
- Experience with crisis intervention, assessments and referrals
- Experience providing individual supportive guidance and case management services
- Experience with group facilitation
- Demonstrated knowledge in supporting school communities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Reliable transportation is required
What you’ll do:
- Oversee and deliver services across designated CIS campuses within the Central Texas MSA (Caldwell County, Hays County, Travis County and Williamson County). This role is required to regularly travel to school campuses in these counties.
- Manage and ensure that the Program Support Specialists can effectively manage their cases.
- Partner with Program Directors to jointly develop a coverage plan for staff vacancies to ensure appropriate coverage for program continuity.
- Coordinate and manage Program Support Specialist schedules to ensure consistent and appropriate coverage, especially during staff transitions.
- Develop and implement action plans to address specific student needs, crisis situations, and challenges faced by the team.
- Coordinate and participate in campus meetings, as needed, to collaborate on best practices and strategies for student success.
- Support the team in maintaining accurate case documentation and timely reporting.
- Provide outreach and short-term support to students and families to honor continuity of services, layering in additional extensive support if necessary for identified students
- Support CIS students and families through staff transition, ensuring that they stay connected to CIS as needed
- Assess student needs and complete necessary agency documentation
- Provide case management check-ins to assess progress and effectiveness of services\
- Collaborate with school/district staff and other community support services on how to best support higher needs students
- Coordinate referrals to outside providers when appropriate
- Manage and support existing campus partnerships
- Provide crisis intervention support to students enrolled in CIS as needed
- Attend critical campus meetings, which may include School Support Team meetings, campus staff meetings, or others
- Communicate regularly with school administration, submitting all required reports
- Provide regular updates to Program Director with oversight for the designated campus(es)
- Document all services in accordance with CIS and professional standards
- Participate in the CIS team approach to service delivery and problem-solving
- Promote and maintain agency culture, standards, and systems
- Perform other activities and duties as directed by the Regional Director of Programs.
Reporting structure: This position is supervised by the Regional Director of Programs and supervises Program Support Specialists.
Location: Frequent travel between assigned campuses in multiple Central Texas school districts and the CIS administrative office will be a requirement for this position.
