Employment Type: 40 hours / week, Non-Exempt

Reports to: Senior Director of Human Resources

Supervises: This role will not supervise

Starting Range: $5,000.00/month ($60,000.00/yearly)

Position Summary

The HR Generalist is responsible for payroll maintenance, human resources management and administration,
including but not limited to: Personnel Files, Data Entry, Compliance, and various generalized HR responsibilities

The HR Generalist must be dependable, confidential, conscientious, courteous, and professional; be able to take
direction and work independently; possess personal initiative and discretion; demonstrate excellent
communication and organization abilities; and have a strong working knowledge of MS Outlook, Microsoft Office,
Payroll, HRIS, and ATS Systems.

This position is not eligible for agency summer break.

What You’ll Do

HR Administration

• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
• Prepare employment contracts, letters, and HR reports.
• Manage attendance, leave records, and employee data updates.
• Perform payroll function, timesheets, maintenance of employee payroll master records, tax deposits, etc.
• Data entry and coding.
• Preparation of HR Materials for employee events and communication.

Performance Management

• Support performance appraisal processes and timelines.
• Assist managers with performance improvement plans and documentation.

Compensation & Benefits Support

• Assist with payroll inputs, benefits administration, and employee queries.
• Support salary reviews, incentives, and benefits enrollment.

Compliance & Policy Implementation

• Ensure HR practices comply with labor laws, company policies, and regulations.
• Assist in updating HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
• Support audits and compliance reporting.

HR Systems

• Maintain HRIS data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Generate HR reports and metrics as required.
• Maintain and support non-exempt and exempt payroll records and processing
• Review and reconcile invoices with employee benefits payroll deductions
• Maintain employee paperwork, including personnel files, insurance forms, status forms, and contractual
requirements.
• Communicate with employees regarding personnel paperwork, timesheets, benefits, and other administrative
needs.
• Assist the HR Team with preparation for onboarding, offboarding, and various employee supports.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, copying, preparing, collating and archiving employee and personnel
records.
• Assist the Senior Director of Human Resources on special projects or assignments.
• Always maintain confidentiality.
• Promote and maintain agency culture, standards, and systems
• Perform all other duties as required

What You Bring

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or similar preferred, High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a professional office setting with progressively
increasing administrative responsibilities related to billing, payroll, or Human Resources functioning.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and Excel
• Excellent communication, time management and organization skills
• Non-profit experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications
• HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
