Job Purpose/Summary
Provides administrative and operational support for CIS of Southern Nevada special events, community relationships, partnerships and engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities
Community Relations, Partnerships and Engagement
- Engage in and supervise community relations activities and initiatives.
- In collaboration with the SNV management team, provide additional support to the Site Coordinators involved in community engagement initiatives at school sites as needed.
- Support activities of the State Development & Marketing teams, including media relations, interviews, and SNV representation.
- Oversee community engagement events including presentations to community organizations, vendor fairs, service clubs, and community partners or stakeholders.
- Supervise and oversee volunteers participating in community engagement activities/events as represenatives of CIS of Southern Nevada.
- Develop and maintains effective relationships with community agencies.
- In collaboration with SNV Executive Director, Senior Directors and leadership teams, cultivate and develop new programmatic partnerships and maintain ongoing MOU’s in support of school goals and initiatives.
Volunteer Recruitment and Coordination
- Manage all elements of volunteering by assessing and meeting potential volunteers prior to events through recruitment such as presenting to community groups and attending events.
- Communicate the organization’s mission during Meet and Greets to ensure attendees understand our purpose and values.
- Communicate with volunteers and business partners on upcoming volunteer opportunities.
- Ensure all volunteers are aligned with National and Local Communities In Schools of Nevada and CCSD volunteer policies and procedures.
- Work closely with Site Coordinators to collect details on events where volunteers are needed and communicate expectations to the volunteers.
- Maintain the volunteer database for the affiliate, collecting data such as volunteer records and overall volunteering hours for each quarte
SNV Special Events & Fundraising
- Assist with oversight and support of all SNV events including Fundraising, Programmatic and Awareness events.
- Oversee SNV and State office colaboration donor engagement events and secure appropriate volunteer support for each opportunity.
- Manage event logistical details, serving as point of contact, for vendors and supporters.
- Oversee, record, and track event data and constituent event information, including event goals, sponsorship and in-kind resource donations, event registration and results.
- Coordinate with SNV Senior Development & Engagement Manager (state office) on seasonal or special events / speaking opportunities, support community cause marketing / events, and help oversee donor appreciation / cultivation events.

Qualifications and Competencies
Qualifications include:
- Experience in event management, fundraising, marketing, and development for a non-profit is highly preferred.
- Minimum two years event coordination experience highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (focus on Events, Marketing or related field is a plus).
- Positive attitude and flexibility to work in an ever-changing environment.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail a must.
- Excellent organizational, coordination and administrative skills.
- Computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Internet use.
- Experience managing donor and volunteer databases
- Strong communication and written skills, adaptable, and the ability to shift priorities, adjusting to the needs of the organization..
- Detail oriented and well organized.
- Sensitivity to and interest in needs of youth varying ethnic populations.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Work environment is indoors and climate controlled. May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
- Moderate noise levels as found in a business office and classroom setting.
- Use of own automobile.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check, possible fingerprinting, and drug screen.
- Travel up to 40% of the time for special events or community engagemet opportunities.
